National Dance Day was created by Nigel Lythgoe, executive producer and judge for the So You Think You Can Dance television series to promote dance education and physical fitness across the U.S. with the ultimate goal of getting dance recognized as a sport.
 
This year, National Dance Day is Saturday, July 27 and Ave Maria Dance Academy is celebrating by offering FREE dance classes from 9:30am - 1:00pm (see schedule below).

At 12:30pm our instructors will teach the 'MASTER CLASS' - official NDD routine: 
Each year Dizzy Feet creates an instructional dance video (the video below is from last year) for people to learn and perform and share with others as part of NDD. Created by favorite “So You Think You Can Dance” choreographers and featuring “So You Think You Can Dance” Alumni, the video represents a range of dance abilities ensuring everyone can take part.  The 2019 master class video has not been posted yet - when it is (usually in early July) we will get it up immediately so check back in July!

Below you will find the schedule and the official NDD choreography (which will be taught during the Master Class at 12:30pm).  Start learning this year's routine on your own or with your friends and family members so you'll be a pro on July 27th!

THERE'S NO NEED TO REGISTER FOR NATIONAL DANCE DAY!  JUST SHOW UP AND DANCE!

If you have dance clothes and dance shoes (such as jazz or hip hop sneakers) - bring them along!  If not - no worries!  Simply wear comfortable clothes and sneakers.
A FEW NATIONAL DANCE DAY NOTES:
*Parents are responsible for their own children.
*If you plan on spending the day with us please be sure to bring your own food or $ to buy food from one of the eateries in Ave Maria. 
*We will be selling water at the studio for $1/bottle.
*Food or drinks (other than water) will not be permitted inside the studio.
